Este libro de fotografías reúne a 85 especies de aves de Panamá. Aves que pueden ser vistas a lo largo de la geografía de la Rep. de Panamá.
Para los pueblos originarios de Panamá, las aves fueron seres espirituales, mensajeros de los dioses y símbolos de poder y sabiduría. Los kuna, habitantes de las islas del Caribe, reverenciaban a las aves como guardianas del equilibrio natural.

Sus plumas eran mucho más que adornos: eran talismanes
sagrados que conectaban lo terrenal con lo divino. Los kuna, por ejemplo, adornaban sus tradiciones con plumas de colores vibrantes, que representaban la energía y el alma de la selva. Las figuras de águilas y tucanes aparecen en petroglifos, mostrando cómo estas especies se integraron en su cosmovisión
como guardianes del equilibrio. Desde las densas selvas de Darién hasta los manglares que bordean el Pacífico, las aves han sido compañeras constantes de la historia panameña. Mucho antes de que los conquistadores europeos llegaran a estas tierras, los pueblos originarios ya veneraban a las aves como
seres espirituales.

For the indigenous peoples of Panama, birds were spiritual beings, messengers of the gods and symbols of power and wisdom. The Kuna, inhabitants of the Caribbean islands, revered birds as guardians of natural balance. Their feathers were much more than ornaments: they were sacred talismans that connected the earthly with the divine.

The Kuna, for example, adorned their traditions with vibrantly colored feathers, which represented the energy and soul of the jungle. Figures of eagles and toucans appear in petroglyphs, showing how these species were integrated into their worldview as guardians of balance. From the dense jungles of Darien to the mangroves that border the Pacific, birds have been constant companions of Panamanian history. Long before the European conquerors arrived in these lands, the native peoples already venerated birds as spiritual beings.
